Epic. That’s the one word that comes to mind at the end of this TVC. If ever there was a perfect way for Volvo to show their concept of ‘Stability’, they nailed it with Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Volva Pushes the Limits of Physics with Their Daring New TVC Featuring Hollywood Heartthrob Jean-Claude Van Damme

We’ve seen our fair share of over the top ads for automobiles but this particular one made by mega truck manufacturing company Volvo really does make you want to hold your breath. Featuring Hollywood actor, professional stunt man and of course ladies’ man Jean-Claude Van Damme, this Volvo TVC is daring, creative and smart that physically pushes the limits of stunt advertising.

Van Damme is known for doing most of his own stunts in his mega blockbusters like Double Impact and Street Fighter. In his movies, Van Damme has performed heart stopping and adrenaline rushing stunts that require immense amounts of bravery and fitness. And he delivers nothing less in the new Volvo commercial.

Advertising That Defies the Laws of Physics

The TVC begins with the face of Van Damme with his eyes closed and the camera slowly zooms out to show that he has both his feet propped up on the side mirrors of two massive Volvo trucks aka the ‘Globetrotters’. As he slowly opens his eyes he explains to the audience in a calm manner that his high risk and high adrenaline lifestyle has made him what he is today and is now going to attempt the most epic of splits with his perfectly crafted body, his legs that are engineered to defy the laws of physics and his brilliant mastermind.

The Volvo trucks then slowly separate from each other allowing Van Damme to carefully extend both his legs to form the perfect split with hair-raising composure and concentration along with inspiring music playing in the background. As the Volvo trucks slowly drive away from the beautiful sunset, all this put together is an ad that you just want to watch over and over again.

Volvo Promises Stability in The Boldest Manner

If Volvo wanted to let the audience know that their trucks and buses exude ‘stability’ they certainly managed to do so in the most daring way possible along with the heroic yet appealingly calm demeanour of the legend himself, Jean-Claude Van Damme.
